Once upon a time many many years ago in the summer of 1997 on June 19th, a boy met a girl.  Inside the New York Chinese School on one faithful day while walking down the hall.  Kai bumped into Eunice.  ”Hi” Kai said with a smile on his face.  Eunice timidly smiled back and said “hi”.  Through the following weeks on Saturday after Eunice’s class ended and before Kai’s began they started to chat and became friends.  In the months to follow they started talking on the phone about everything and anything.  They were just two young people enjoying each others company.  Eventually Kai stopped going to Chinese School and lost contact with Eunice…..

….. 10 years later on a Fall day in 2007, Kai was rushing to a meeting and running down Bowery Street, through a crowd of people he saw Eunice heading in the opposite direction as they both passed the entrance of Golden Bridge restaurant.  Kai didn’t have time to stop to say hi so he went on his way.  Later that evening he went on Facebook and looked up Eunice and messaged her.  Eunice’s Facebook was not created until August 12, 2007 by two friends of her’s just two short months prior to Kai messaging her.   If he ran into her earlier than he did they might have not met again.  The first time they talked on the phone again it was like talking to a long lost friend.  It was that feeling you get when you try to catch up and fill each other in on what we missed through the years as if not a day had passed.  We quickly became good friends again and started hanging out…

….. 2 short  years after Eunice & Kai became friends again their mutual friends started suggesting that they would make a “cute couple’.  At first they both dismissed the notion as it wasn’t something that they considered given their long standing friendship.  After a number of different friends started bringing it up, it was in the back of their mind.  In the beginning they would just hang out as usual and have fun together.  Enjoying each others’ company whether in a group or just the two of them.  Slowly and eventually the once “usual” conversations started sparking up feelings of closeness and affection for each other.  At one faithful night while they were having dinner at Spanky’s BBQ restaurant,  Kai mustered up the courage to ask Eunice to be his girlfriend.  Eunice blushed and smiled shyly and said “yes”. This was the start of their love story…..
